Cite.sh does not operate a direct listing checkout or intake form. New placements are handled through BacklinkRocket. To fulfill a network placement, we may receive the public listing information supplied through BacklinkRocket:
- Website Information: Your website URL, site name, description, and category
We also collect certain information automatically when you visit our website:
- Analytics Data: Page views, visit duration, referral source, browser type, and device information collected via Google Analytics
- Log Data: IP address, access times, and pages viewed as recorded by our web server
AI Crawler Checker: Robots.txt text pasted into the checker and the generated replacement file stay in your browser. We do not transmit or store either. The checker sends anonymous interaction events to Google Analytics when you analyze a file, select a preset, or copy the output. Those events do not include pasted text, generated rules, the selected preset, or individual crawler-policy selections.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create, publish, update, or remove a directory listing fulfilled through BacklinkRocket
- Improve and maintain our website and services
- Analyze website traffic and usage patterns
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:

- BacklinkRocket: New listing purchases, intake, and payment processing happen on BacklinkRocket, not Cite.sh. Information submitted there is governed by BacklinkRocket's own terms and privacy disclosures.

Cite.sh uses cookies only through Google Analytics. These cookies help us understand visitor behavior such as pages viewed, session duration, and referral sources. No advertising or tracking cookies are used beyond Google Analytics.

Listing data (your site name, URL, description, and category) is kept indefinitely as part of the service. This is the core product: a permanent directory listing.
Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention settings.

- Update your listing: Request changes to your directory listing at any time by emailing us
- Remove your listing: Request that we remove your listing and its associated public listing information
- Access your data: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correct your data: Request corrections to any inaccurate information

Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by Cite.sh, including serving the website over HTTPS and keeping the crawler checker client-side. Payments are not processed on Cite.sh. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Cite.sh is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
